Once a powerful fortress built in 1649 by <strong>Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal</strong>, Drukgyal Dzong played an important role in defending Bhutan from Tibetan invasions and offers spectacular views of <strong>Mount Jomolhari</strong> on clear days.</p> <p>From the ruins of Drukgyal Dzong, begin your trek through the beautiful landscapes of the Paro Valley.
