<h3><strong>About the Festival</strong></h3> <p>Dedicated to the consecration of Jambay Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built by King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century to subdue a demoness.</p> <h3><strong>Significance</strong></h3> <p>The festival celebrates the presence and blessings of Guru Rinpoche.</p> <h3><strong>Unique & Famous Rituals</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Mewang (Fire Ceremony):</strong> A midnight dance where participants jump under a flaming gate to purify sins.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Tercham (Naked Dance):</strong> A sacred dance performed by selected men (late night).<br /> <em>Note: It’s a religious dance symbolizing fertility and cleansing.</em></p> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Tourist Experience</strong></h3> <p>A very rare and powerful spiritual festival, filled with ancient rituals and dramatic fire ceremonies.</p>
